These pins come in a range of sizes to fit various clevis pin diameters, and you can install them in a single step. One prong is already bent, so just push them into a hole and pins stay in place to secure components. Although hairpins are reusable, they don’t withstand vibration as well as standard cotter pins. Also known as hitch pin clips and R-clips.Zinc-Plated Spring Steel—These pins withstand occasional exposure to moisture. However, since friction from moving parts can wear away the finish, they're not ideal for wet environments. While not nearly as corrosion resistant as stainless steel, they are stronger and won’t deform under stress.
