Drive these fittings into unthreaded holes with a hammer and grease fitting installation tool (not included). They're also known as hydraulic grease fittings.Fittings with a serrated shank have a tighter grip than those with a smooth shank for a more secure fit in old or oversized holes.Zinc-plated steel fittings have mild corrosion resistance.Fittings with a check valve prevent grease from leaking when pressure causes backward flow. The valve stays closed when not in use to keep out dirt and other contaminants.
