For hard-to-access shafts that are oversized from coatings or undersized from wear, we’ll get you a coupling in the right size that clamps on as two pieces, so you don’t need to move your shafts or installed components. Let us know your shaft diameter to the nearest 0.001” or 0.1 mm. These couplings are rigid, making them good for high-torque applications. However, your shafts must be aligned.Step-down couplings connect different-size shafts.Couplings for keyed shafts have keyways that are sized to fit ANSI standard machine keys. Insert a key between the coupling and shaft to lock the coupling in place and transmit high levels of torque without slipping.To Order: For keyed step-down shaft couplings, please specify your shaft diameter for each end of the coupling in 0.001” or 0.1 mm increments within the ranges listed. Also specify the keyway sizes that match your shafts.
