One prong is already bent, so just push into a hole to secure parts in one step. Although the coil maintains tension, hairpins don’t withstand vibration as well as standard and hammer-set cotter pins. Also known as hitch pin clips and R-clips.Spring Steel—Stronger than stainless steel, these pins won't deform from stress and vibration. They perform best in dry environments since moisture will cause them to rust.
