Prevent static discharge that can harm sensitive electronics and equipment.Static-dissipative mats have a lower surface resistivity than antistatic mats to drain static faster.Smooth mats require a grounding cord (sold separately)—attach the cord to the grounding snap on the mat, then connect the other end to an electrical outlet or other grounding point. Mats are cushioned to reduce fatigue. They are made of soft foam and then covered by a layer of hard vinyl for durability.
