Use them anywhere you need a tight seal, such as protecting electronics from moisture or keeping lubricants contained in machinery.Hard Fiber—An economical alternative to metal crush washers, these compress easily to create a seal with less effort. However, fiber washers degrade faster than metal washers and aren't as heat resistant. They also don't seal quite as tightly as their plastic or rubber counterparts. These washers are reusable, as long as the material isn't damaged.
