Use shears or a cutoff saw and wrap the hose ends with tape to cut the hose to your desired length and then attach the fittings. You don’t need any special equipment to install. After you attach the fittings, be sure to test the hose for required pressure prior to using.To attach fittings to hose, push the socket over the stainless steel braid, then wedge the sleeve under the braid. Next, insert the nipple into the hose and hand-tighten the socket onto the nipple. Finish by wrench-tightening the hex nipple until it is flush against the socket.Female fittings are also known as JIC (Joint Industrial Council) fittings. They swivel until tightened for easy installation.Brass fittings with zinc-plated steel nut have fair corrosion resistance; 303 stainless steel fittings have very good corrosion resistance.
